
Veterinarians

Dr. Taylor Kennedy, DVM
Dr. Taylor Kennedy is originally from Sabetha, KS. She grew up in a first-generation veterinary household. Taylor graduated from Sabetha High School. She then had a short stint at Coffeyville Community College, where she played volleyball prior to landing at Kansas State University to obtain a B.S. in Animal Science. Taylor continued at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine to receive her DVM in 2018. She has practiced at Banner Creek Animal Hospital since her graduation. Taylor takes on a multitude of roles in animal practice, with focuses on both large animal production and small animal primary care. Dr. Kennedy’s favorite part of practice is small animal surgery. Taylor, her husband, Joseph, and their kids dwell in Jackson County, where they run a small cow-calf herd, as well as a herd of three crazy dogs. In her free time, she can typically be found spending time outside on the farm with her family, attending concerts, watching volleyball, or following KSU athletics.

Dr. Breanna Amon, DVM
Dr. Breanna Amon resided on a small dairy farm near Horton, Kansas. Breanna graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Biology. After that she relocated to Ames, Iowa to attend Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she then graduated in 2022. Dr. Amon relishes in production animal medicine, herd work and small animal primary care. During her spare time, she revels in traveling, being outdoors, baking and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Dr. John Dwyer, DVM
Dr. John Dwyer was raised on a small row crop and cow outfit in rural Missouri. He holds an undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Southwest Missouri State University and completed his DVM at Kansas State in 2016. During and following his undergraduate degree, Dr. Dwyer worked in both dairy and beef stocker management intensive grazing operations that emphasized stockmanship. Immediately prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Dwyer was employed by the Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. Dr. Dwyer has spent his career in rural Kansas and Nebraska. He works on all species, but prefers equine lameness, dentistry, reproduction, and bovine herd health medicine. Dr. Dwyer is also certified to provide chiropractic treatment to animals.

Dr. Darla Dwyer, DVM
Dr. Darla Dwyer was raised on the family farm near Bern, Kansas. She attended Kansas State University for her undergraduate studies and graduated from veterinary school in 2013. Dr. Dwyer has spent her career in mixed animal practice in rural Kansas and Nebraska. She enjoys the variety that working in mixed practice on all species brings. Surgery and food animal herd health medicine are her favorite areas of interest.
Veterinary Assistants

Kayla Lawrence, Veterinary Assistant
Kayla Lawrence was raised in the country outside of Effingham, Kansas. She graduated from Effingham High School. Kayla married her high school sweetheart in August 2023. Her family consists of her, her husband, Triston, their three dogs: Waylon, Normi, and Duke, as well as one cat named Buddy. Kayla began working for Banner Creek Animal Hospital in December 2020 as a Veterinary Assistant. In her leisure time, Kayla loves going fishing, watching football, walking her dogs, and spending time with family. She also enjoys seeing her husband’s reaction to her bringing home a calf in her car.

Receptionists

Shelbie Corber, Receptionist
Shelbie Corber is from Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 2014. Shelbie is happily married to her best friend, George. Their blended family consists of their four children: Tyler, Sam, Lucas, and Lillie, their two grandchildren: Harmony and Heaven, as well as their two dogs: Jax and Scrappy, and three cats: Kairi, Gir, and Shaggy. Shelbie began working for Banner Creek Animal Hospital in July 2023 as a Receptionist. Her pastimes include cooking, writing, and going on outdoor adventures with her husband.

Susannah Dalinghaus, Receptionist
Susannah Dalinghaus is from Sabetha Kansas and graduated high school in 2023. She attended Allen County Community College to obtain her Certification in Livestock Management and Associates of Science in Animal Science. She worked as a kennel assistant for Bern-Sabetha Veterinary Clinic from 2020-2024. helbie began working for Banner Creek Animal Hospital in July 2023 as a Receptionist. Susannah has a passion for horses and is in school to get her Equine massage certification. In her free time, she enjoys training horses, riding with her husband, and reading fantasy books.

Rachel Cutright, Receptionist
Rachel Cutright grew up near Effingham, Kansas and graduated from Atchinson County Community High School. These days she is living on the family farm with her husband, four kids, two dogs, seven cats, a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, and a flock of chickens. Rachel began working for Banner Creek Animal Hospital in April 2024 as a Receptionist. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, quilting and snuggling her baby goats.
